The Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) was established under the Uttar Pradesh Act No. 35 of 2016, as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature. The university is administered by the Sam Higginbottom Educational and Charitable Society, a Christian minority educational society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
SHUATS is a united endeavour of the Christian community in India to promote rural development, education, and research in accordance with its founding vision. The university serves as a national centre for higher education, attracting students and faculty members from across the country while encouraging academic excellence, innovation, and community service.
